A few people sitting down together to talk. One question a week, the same everywhere; the gathering happens in your own city.
What this is
Every week there is one question. Not trivia — the kind you can only answer by looking at your own week. People write their answers over the week, then meet once in their own city: cook a vegetarian meal, go to a restaurant, drink tea, have coffee, or just walk, and go through the week's words face to face.
The questions grow out of old texts: the Buddhist sutras, the Taoists, the Confucians, the Bible, the Stoics, and what Socrates actually asked. Every line carries its source and is quoted as written.
None of these words is a doctrine. Each is a finger pointing at the moon — what matters is the moon, not the finger. Go inward and what you see will be your own; that difference is what this place cares about.
Who runs it
Holistic Well Being, part of Anureka Inc., a small company registered in Delaware, USA. No investors, nothing for sale, no plans to grow big — the line on the front page, "we are few, and mean to stay that way", is meant.

Why “Su Xin”
I would trade all of my technology for an afternoon with Socrates.
Steve Jobs once said he would trade all his technology for an afternoon with Socrates. This site is an attempt to hold that afternoon. The Chinese name, 素心, comes from a poem by Tao Yuanming: he had heard that the village to the south was full of 素心人 — people of plain, unguarded heart — so he moved there, just to spend his mornings and evenings among them. This site exists so you can find those few people in your own city.
How to come in
